Privacy Policy
Etmaen ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This Policy explains how we handle information when you use our mobile application and related services (the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to this Policy.
1. Scope
This Policy applies to personal data processed through Etmaen. It does not apply to third-party websites or services that we do not control. If you do not agree with this Policy, please discontinue use of the Services.
2. Information we collect
We may collect identifiers and contact details you provide (such as name, phone number, and email), health-related information you choose to enter (such as symptoms, appointments, lab results, or prescriptions), device and usage data (such as device type, operating system, and app diagnostics), and communications you send to us through support channels.
We collect only what is reasonably necessary to provide and improve the Services.
3. How we use information
We use information to operate and maintain the Services, personalize your experience, facilitate bookings and communications with healthcare providers, provide reminders and notifications where enabled, improve safety and performance, comply with legal obligations, and respond to your requests.
4. Retention and security
We retain information for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer period is required by law. We implement administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.
5. Sharing
We may share information with service providers who assist us in hosting, analytics, customer support, or communications, subject to appropriate safeguards. We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users and the public. We do not sell your personal information.
6. Your choices and rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing of your personal data, or to object to processing and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. You may adjust certain preferences in the app settings where available. To exercise your rights, contact us using the details provided in the app or on our official channels.
7. Third-party AI service
Our app includes a symptom-guidance feature powered by an external third-party artificial-intelligence model.
What data is sent: Only the symptoms and health-related descriptions you enter in the symptom-checker screen are transmitted to the external AI model. We do not send your name, phone number, email address, or any other personal identifiers to the AI provider.
How it works: When you use the symptom-guidance feature, the symptom descriptions you provide are sent to an external AI model to generate informational health guidance. The data is transmitted over encrypted connections and is not used by the AI provider to train or improve their models.
Your permission: Before any data is sent to the AI service, the app will ask for your explicit consent. You may decline, and the rest of the app's features will remain fully available. You can withdraw your consent at any time from the app settings.
Third-party protections: The AI provider processes this data in accordance with its own privacy policy and data-processing terms, which provide protections for personal data that are consistent with or equivalent to the protections described in this Policy.
8. Changes and contact
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version within the Services and adjust the "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
For privacy-related questions or requests, please contact us through the contact options listed in the app or on our official channels.
